Graduate Structural Engineer

We are looking for a Graduate Structural Engineer to join a busy team involved with a mix of civil, structural and external works design for clients across Yorkshire and beyond. Working in support of, and under the guidance of, senior design staff you will assist in preparing design calculations, packages and drawings for a wide variety of projects. You will also need to attend site visits during construction phases to monitor on-site progress.

Key Skills

  • Minimum degree qualified in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 2-3 years experience of structural design of buildings to British and Eurocode standards.
  • Experience of design in steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
  • Experience of design in a variety of different sectors such as residential, commercial, industrial and retail.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD at a drawing/design level.
  • Ability to produce clear & concise calculation/drawing documents to be issued to clients.
  • Dealing / corresponding with / advising clients.
  • 2D & 3D analysis of structures.
  • Experience of working to BIM level 2 would be beneficial.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to liaise well with professionals from other disciplines.
  • Proficient in using design software (Tedds, Tekla, Structural Designer, Masterseries) to put together calculation packages
  • Confidence in working within a team, being able to actively contribute to providing design solutions.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • A positive outlook on further training and development of your technical skills.

Structural Revit Technician

Due to continued growth, we are currently looking for a Revit Technician to assist in dealing with a wide range of sectors including housing, retail and industrial. In your new role you will be joining a well-established engineering team, working on a range of residential, commercial and industrial projects where you will be responsible for the production and supervision of co-ordinated 3D, BIM models using Revit.

Key Skills

  • HND/HNC in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • A demonstration of relevant structural Revit experience.
  • Ability to deliver projects through to completion, and work within a multidisciplinary consultancy.
  • Be involved in BIM strategy for the office and contribute to BIM processes.
  • Come from a strong structural engineering background, having a minimum of 5 years working as a structural technician using Revit and CAD.
  • Be technically competent with the modelling and draughting of structures to current design standards.
  • Have previous experience working on residential, commercial, industrial building structure projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work and analyse 2D /3D projects.
  • Experience of detailing using concrete, steel and masonry.
  • Ability to mentor more junior CAD staff in the use of Revit/CAD.

Civils Technician

A Civils Technician is required to join a busy team involved with highways and drainage design for clients across Yorkshire and beyond. Working in support of, and under guidance of, senior design staff, you will assist in preparing design specifications for S38 and S278 projects. This will involve assisting in the production of design drawings using AutoCAD (Civils 3D). Predominantly working as civils but some structural drawing experience also required.

Key Skills

  • Minimum HNC/HND qualified in Civil Engineering.
  • 2-3 years of experience in highways and drainage design working to UK standards.
  • Must be competent at using AutoCAD with experience in Civils 3D software desirable.
  • Must have some experience of drafting and detailing of highway and external works including S38 and S278.
  • Experience of producing drawings to support S104 and S185 applications.
  • Any experience of specialist drainage packages (MicroDrainage, Flow) would be an advantage.
  • Be familiar with working to company CAD standards with experience of working to BIM Level 2 desirable.
  • Familiarity or experience with Revit is desirable.
  • Confidence in working within a team, being able to actively contribute to providing design solutions.
  • You will need to be able to work under minimal supervision and should have a positive outlook on further training and development of your technical skills.
